The X app on iOS has no "save video" button, and Apple doesn't let apps drop videos straight into your camera roll without a workaround. The good news: you don't need an app at all. This page works right inside Safari — paste a post link and you'll have the MP4 in a few taps.
Step by step on iPhone
- Copy the link. In the X app, tap the share icon (the arrow) below the video and choose Copy link. If you're in Safari already, copy the URL from the address bar.
- Paste it above. Come back to this page and paste the link into the box.
- Tap Download, then tap Save video (MP4) when the preview appears.
- Save it where you want. Safari puts the file in Downloads (the blue download arrow in the address bar). Tap it, then use the share icon to send it to Photos or the Files app.
Saving to your Photos library
By default the video goes to Files, not your camera roll. To get it into Photos: open the download, tap the share icon, and choose Save Video. From there it behaves like any other clip — you can trim it, share it, or set it as a wallpaper.
Tips
- Use Safari rather than an in-app browser — downloads are more reliable.
- If nothing downloads, the post may not contain a video (some are images or text only).
- Long videos take a moment to process. Give it a few seconds before retrying.
