X doesn't give you a "save video" button, so downloading a clip means copying its link and running it through a downloader like this one. It takes about ten seconds and works the same way on every device. Here's the whole process.
The 3-step method (works everywhere)
- Copy the post link. On the post with the video, tap or click the Share icon and choose Copy link.
- Paste it into the box above.
- Press Download and save the MP4 to your device.
That's it — no account, no app, no watermark. If you want the specifics for your device, the sections below cover each one.
On iPhone or iPad
Do it in Safari. After downloading, the MP4 lands in Safari's Downloads (the arrow near the address bar). Open it and tap the share icon to save it to Photos or Files. Full walkthrough: download on iPhone.
On Android
Same three steps in Chrome. The video saves straight to your Downloads folder and appears in your Gallery. Full walkthrough: download on Android.
On Windows or Mac
Paste the link, download, and the MP4 goes to your Downloads folder ready to play or edit. Full walkthrough: download on PC.
If it doesn't work
- Make sure the post actually contains a video — some are images or text only.
- Use the full post URL (the one with /status/ in it), not a profile link.
- Long videos take a few seconds to process before the download starts.
